FOTHERINGAY will be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed as they bring their UK tour to Victoria Hall in Saltaire.
The December 10 gig follows the release of the band’s four-disc box set entitled Nothing More, The Collected Fotheringay.
Member Mick Houghton recently wrote a biography on folk goddess and original Fotheringay member Sandy Denny, entitled I've Always Kept A Unicorn.
A spokesman for Fotheringay said the band’s combined musical achievements and professional experiences spanned more than 40 years.
He said: “You couldn’t find folk who know more about folk.”
The line-up features the original founding members Jerry Donahue on guitar, Gerry Conway on drums and Pat Donaldson on bass.
The guests during the current tour include include musician PJ Wright, with Kathryn Roberts and Sally Barker filling the shoes of Sandy Denny and providing silky smooth and harmonious vocals.
The spokesman said: “Come back to your folk roots and let the Fotheringays demonstrate why this genre of music is still so truly loved.”
Fotheringay also plays the Grand, Clitheroe, on December 9. Visit fotheringay.com for booking details.
