MODERN-day folk goddess Cara Dillon will perform at Victoria Hall in Saltaire on Friday, November 27.

Irish songstress Cara was a singer nominee in this year’s BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards for Folk Singer Of The Year.

Regarded as having one of the world’s most beautiful voices, she will perform songs from her latest critically-acclaimed album A Thousand Hearts alongside a selection of favourites.

A spokesman said: “Cara’s extraordinary ability to simultaneously seduce both traditional folk purists and a more mainstream audience has seen her rise to the very top of her genre.

“She continues to be celebrated by some of the biggest names in music including the likes of Ed Sheeran, Alison Krauss, Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding, Timothy B Schmit from the Eagles, and Robert Plant."

Cara is in constant demand and has performed all over the world, usually with some of the finest musicians on the folk scene.

Cara said: “Being in an intimate venue is where I feel most comfortable.

"It's a thrill to perform on big stages but I absolutely love the moments when I can drift away from the audience and totally lose myself in a song.”
