SETTLE Flagmakers will make their annual visit to the town’s Gallery On The Green in the run-up to Christmas.

They will reprise their 2012 exhibition, Treasure Island, in the converted phone box in the Yorkshire Dales town.

The exhibition, which opened last Saturday, will give people the chance to escape the bleak midwinter, and head to a tropical paradise.

Created by Jeanne Carr and the Flagmakers, it will feature treasure, plus images from the tropics.

When the exhibition was last staged, visitors added to the display with their own exhibits, including textile parrots, monkeys and even a snake.

Victoria Hall in Settle hosts a series of series of pre-Christmas entertainments including the East Pointers on Thursday, December 3.

The band have toured Canada and Australia, including the Woodford Folk Festival, presenting traditional Celtic tunes of decades past.

Internationally-acclaimed storyteller and musician Tony Wilson will entertain children on Saturday, December 5 at 3pm with seasonal tales, with muscial accompaniment from Eastburn fiddler Tom McConville.

Tom, known as the Newcastle Fiddle Player, will be back at the venue with his band on Sunday, December 6 for one of the Victoria Hall’s regular folk nights.
