SIRENS And Strings are the next band to perform live at the Robin Hood pub in Silsden.

The band, fronted by Keighley girl Abigail Nelson, can be seen on Saturday February 6 from 8.30pm.

The band boasts a varied set list with songs by the likes of Amy Winehouse, Vintage Trouble, Caro Emerald, Pistol Annies, Foo Fighters, Imelda May and Civil Wars.

A spokesman said: “There is a beautiful mix of laid-back chill, with an accomplished edge of passion and spirit.”

Siren and Strings are an acoustic covers band, combining vocals, guitar, sax/clarinet and percussion, performing an eclectic selection of songs.

The spokesman said the mix was key to the success of the band’s set, songs being drawn from completely different genres.

She said: “They often extract a fabulous melody from a song that started life drowned in a sea of amplified guitars and drums.

“Neill's superb guitar playing and vocal harmonies and Abigail's distinctive emotion-loaded vocals, are complemented by two amazing sax/clarinet and percussion players.

“These four talents combine to create something different, fresh and engaging.

“Their takes on well-known tracks reveal that simplicity can be stunning – and - and prove that a really good song will shine even when stripped back to basics.”
