EARLY music group Red Priest will return to Skipton on Tuesday, February 9.

The baroque music quartet will perform at the next Skipton Music concert in Skipton Town Hall.

And, during the afternoon, they will entertain 300 children from 12 different primary schools at the society's annual schools concert.

Concert secretary Rowena Leder said: "Red Priest has performed in Skipton twice before, but a long time ago. All four are brilliant musicians, who perform from memory with virtuosity, emotion and compelling stagecraft."

The group comprises Piers Adams on recorder, Adam Summerhayes, violin, Angela East, cello, and David Wright, harpsichord.

Founded in 1997, and named after the flame-haired priest Vivaldi, Red Priest has given several hundred sell-out concerts in many of the world’s most prestigious festivals and has been described by music critics as ‘visionary and heretical’, ‘outrageous yet compulsive’ and ‘with a wicked sense of humour’.

The concert will take place at Skipton Town Hall at 7.30pm and tickets are available from 01756 799912 or skiptonmusic.org.uk.
