A SERIES of guided walks in and around Keighley district will take place over the next month, with the first planned for this weekend.

On Sunday, (February 28) a trek called Between Two Reservoirs sets off at 10.30am.

People wanting to take part should meet Ken Allen senior at Denholme Gate mill car park on the A629 between Foreside Mill and Broadstone Farm.

The seven-mile route will lead them up to Thornton Reservoir, then over the moors and down to Ogden Reservoir.

On Wednesday March 9 there is a five and a half mile circular walk. Participants should meet Colin Pitts at 10.30am at the car park near the main entrance to the St Ives estate off the A6429 Harden Road.

This walk above the Aire Valley will feature some rough paths and several short, steep sections.

Another circular walk is on offer on March 13. Meet Ray Wood at 10.30am at White Wells car park for a trek across the moor towards Addingham. The return leg will follow the Dalesway.

A six-mile Addingham "Roundabout" walk promises an relaxed early spring ramble on March 23.

Meet Howard Lloyd at 10.45am outside Addingham Library for the six-mile route which takes in hamlets and farms on the outskirts of the village.

March 25 features the annual Calvary on Good Friday trek. Meet Peter Beaumont at 11am at Ilkley Lido for an uphill walk to Calvary then along to Nesfield.

People are asked to bring a packed lunch with them for all walks, wear stout footwear and to bring waterproof clothing.
