LOCAL band Dark Horse has a busy time ahead, with no few than six gigs during the summer.

Formed by Allan Parkinson, the band has been performing rock and blues classics and originals for the past 15 years.

Allan, an original and founding member of the 1970s group Slack Alice, has a reputation as one of the finest blues-rock guitarists and songwriters in the North of England.

He is joined on stage by his son, James, on bass guitar, vocalist Samuel Hylands and drummer David Horner.

Dark Horse played the Foresters Arms, Grassington, last Saturday.

Coming gigs: Black Horse, Hellifield, Saturday June 25, at 9pm; Skipton High Street, Sunday, July 3; White Lion, Earby, Saturday, July 9, 9pm; and the Greyhound, Barnoldswick, Saturday, July 16, also at 9pm.
