ART PROJECTS this month will encourage people to take a new look at the River Aire.

The three projects are inspired by the waterways of Leeds and Bradford and the impact they have had on the lives of everyone along its banks.

Multi-Story Water will be held at various points along the Aire Valley on June 25 and 26..

There will be a new, free, alternative heritage walking tour around Saltaire.

Performances will look at the past, present and future effect of the Boxing Day floods of 2015.

And visitors can spend time with a fictitious CEO committed to re-imagining the use of the waterfront in the centre of Leeds.

A spokesman said: “Multi-Story Water was formed to take a creative and entertaining look at the relationship we as people have with our waterways, from upstream down to where they meet the city.

“Although river and canal are no longer at the heart of our work and transport, they still form the running heart of our communities.”

After The Flood, devised for Leeds Waterfront Festival, is Common Chorus Theatre’s performance drawing on interviews with people directly affected by the floods.

Seven Bridges is a promenade performance is getting a playful, zig-zag journey back and forth across the River Aire via seven bridges between the Royal Armouries and Leeds Station. Visit saltswaters.co.uk for further information.
