THE AUTUMN season at Bradford Theatres offers a feast of dance, drama, music, comedy and musicals.

Highlights highlights include The Glenn Miller Story starring music legend Tommy Steele, global superstar Gilbert O’Sullivan, and Northern Ballet's latest ballet for children Tortoise And The Hare.

At King’s Hall in Ilkley there will be famous folk band Steeleye Span, tribute show The Simon And Garfunkel Story, and an evening with TV personality Monty Don.

Comedy fans can visit the newly-refreshed Alhambra Studio to see Dane Baptiste, Paul Foot and Jerry Sadowitz.

For classical music lovers the 29th Bradford Chamber Season continues from September in Bradford Cathedral.

Adam Renton, general manager of Bradford Theatres, said: “ We have enjoyed a dynamic and exhilarating time so far during 2016 at Bradford Theatres. We’re sure that the remainder of the year will be just as exciting for everyone.

“Our city centre venue, St George’s Hall, closed temporarily in spring for renovation work. While the venue is undergoing refurbishment, some of our popular one night events will be presented at the Alhambra Theatre instead.

“These include Ken Dodd, Jimmy Carr and Halfway To Paradise – The Billy Fury Story.

“You can also continue to enjoy the best in dance and drama at the Alhambra Theatre, with return visits from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Northern Ballet and Touring Consortium Theatre Company.

“Later in the year, our trilogy of long-running musicals for 2016 culminates with Mary Poppins; and as ever, the festive season is graced by our annual pantomime, this year Peter Pan.”

Basil And Co The Comedy Dinner Show, featuring characters from BBC comedy Fawlty Towers and a three-course dinner, will be at the Alhambra’s Restaurant 1914 on September 3 and 4.

Pianist Peter Donohoe will play at Bradford Cathedral on September 9.

A Tale of Two Cities, adapted from the Charles Dickens novel, will be staged from October 4 to 8 at the Alhambra.
