ALTERNATIVE RnB singer Kymberley Kennedy will play Keighley on Friday, July 22 to promote her debut album.

Songs from Head Games, out on August 15, will be performed by Kymberly and her band at the Exchange Arts Centre in Russell Street.

Based in York, Kymberly won the Breakspoll Award and has twice been nominated for a Grassroots Award.

She is now on her first headline tour with her band, Miles Williams, David Soulsby and Sam Whiting, with support from Grinny Grandad, Laura Kindelan and Meihaus.

Kymberly was described by Data Transmission magazine as “vocal traffic stopper".

Head Games includes the single All I Wanted which featured as the main theme song in the US movie Syrup, starring Amber Heard.

The album also features Make Me Wanna which charted in the Beatport Top 100.

A spokesman said: “On the title track Head Games, ethereal vocals and pulsating synths evoke a sombre sense of immediacy.

“Both raw yet intricate, and exposed yet self-assured, Head Games invokes the same hypnotic elegance, songwriting prowess and artistic musical style that have defined Kennedy's distinctive sound.”

Kymberly also performs at the Milo Bar in Leeds on July 27, the Crescent in York on August 5, and the Blues Bar in Harrogate, on August 14.
