NINETIES hitmakers James are among the first acts be confirmed for a mid-summer festival at Roundhay Park in Leeds.
Joining the Britpoppers at the park’s first-ever music, food and family entertainment festival will be Primal Scream, Wolf Alice, Haggis Horns and Max Jury.
OnRoundhay will see music returning to the park – once the scene of major concerts by the likes of Simple Minds and Madonna – for the first time in 10 years.
James will play the festival fresh from their recent set at Glastonbury and with a new album, Girl At The End Of The World, in the top reaches the charts.
The band, whose singles include Sit Down and She’s A Star, are co-headlining alongside Scottish rock legends Primal Scream, who this year released a Top 20 album Chaosmosis.
Brit and Grammy-nominated London four-piece Wolf Alice had broken through to the mainstream this year, combining candyfloss melodies with a grungy edge.
Iowa singer Max Jury promises heartfelt, country-tinged and perfectly-executed indie-pop, while Leeds seven-piece The Haggis Horns will present funk, soul and hip-hop.
