RED LADDER Theatre Company has been awarded £186,463 from Arts Council England to deliver the Northern Social Circuit programme.
It will tour eight “exciting, challenging and relevant” productions to 15 non-traditional venues such as pubs, rugby league and sports and social clubs.
Working with Northern theatres like the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds, Red Ladder’s aim is to maintain and develop new audiences across the region.
Five existing productions will tour: Rabbitskin, The Life and Soul, Playing The Joker, Wrong ‘Un and We’re Not Going Back.
Producer Chris Lloyd said: “It is brilliant to work on main stages in Leeds but the power and intensity or presenting work in intimate spaces is equally as rewarding.”
