NORTHERN soul music is coming to the Parkside Club in Haworth following requests by local people.
Organisers say that if the first event on September 17 is successful, then the Butt Lane club will host regular so nights.
Larry Calvert from Colne has been invited over to spin the discs with three resident DJs. They will only use vinyl records.
Northern soul was a music and dance movement in the North and Midlands in the late 1960s, drawing on the heavy beat and fast tempo of the Tamla Motown soul sound.
The event will run from 8pm to midnight. Admission will be £3 on the door.
