AWARD-winning local theatre company the Jay Walkers take to the road again with their autumn tour of a new play, The Bench.

The play travels around Craven villages this month including Cononley.

Written by the group's creator and artistic director, Jamesine Cundell-Walker, The Bench is a keenly-observed series of monologues and duologues set on one park bench over the course of a day.

Striking notes that range from thought-provoking drama through warm pathos to high character comedy, The Bench sees cast members double or triple-up their roles to portray the vast range of humanity that passes through a local park in any single day.

Jay Walkers' audience regulars will recognise many of the cast of nine from last year's acclaimed autumn tour of Blue Remembered Hills (pictured).

The Bench tours locally to Grassington Octagon on Friday September 23, Gargrave Village Hall on Saturday, September 24, and Cononley Institute on Friday, September 30.

Tickets cost £7 and are available by phone on 01765 640027 or by email to boxoffice@jaywalkers.co.uk

The play also forms the latest evening in the Play & Prosecco series at Hettie's Cafe Bistro on Skipton High Street on Saturday, October 1.

Tickets for this evening cost £18.50, which includes a delicious hot buffet and a glass of Prosecco, available in person from Hettie's or by phone on 01756 790949.
