GETTING dolled up is Philip Smith as he prepares for another outing as the Dame in Sutton’s pantomime.
For many years Keighley man Philip has taken turns with Haworth’s Dean Harness to play the Dame in the annual family show from Sutton’s Green Hut Theatre Company.
But this year the pair both get to wear the dresses, as they play the ugly sisters in a fun-filled traditional production of perennial favourite Cinderella.
Philip, who played Buttons in Keighley Amateurs' most recent production of Cinderella, is also directing the Sutton show and co-wrote the script.
He performs and directs regularly for Skipton Players and last week played a lead role in Skipton Musical Theatre Company’s presentation of the musical Return To The Forbidden Planet.
But despite all the behind-the-scenes work, there’s always time for a bit of lippy for a guy determined to look good for Prince Charming!
Cinderella will be performed at Sutton Village Hall from December 7 to 10 at 7.15pm, with a Saturday matinee at 2.15pm. Call 01535 6322 89 to book tickets.
