OAKWORTH children will next month set sail for comedy and adventure in the latest pantomime at the Methodist Church.

Sinbad The Sailor is the title of this year’s show which is again likely to sell out for most of the eight performances.

Two thirds of the tickets for the February 18-25 run have already been sold, with both Saturday matinees on the Wednesday and Saturday evenings almost full.

But David Howarth, one of the leading lights of the panto production team, said there were still plenty of room at the other four shows.

He said: “Enjoy the excitement and laughter as you are carried along in yet another rollicking, fun-packed, spectacular adventure, full of Eastern promise and Turkish delights!”

The show, which features a cast made up entirely of children and young people, follows Sinbad’s adventures on board the sailing ship Seagull.

The young man sets out to rescue the Princess Yamsin after she is spirited away by the evil magician Vazar – only to encounter Black Hook and his band of swashbuckling pirates.
