KEIGHLEY Picture House is spoilt for choice as a host of popular movies go on release.

Manager, David Pedrick, said the North Street cinema is trying to fit the Oscar-winners in among popular blockbusters.

He said: “So many great films arrive in such a short space of time it’s a struggle to fit them all in but fit them in we do, with showings of Lion, Hidden Figures, Hacksaw Ridge and Manchester By The Sea.

“We somehow managed to juggle them around the ever-present mainstream films, like Logan, John Wick 2 and The Lego Batman Movie.

“No sooner than one film is finished than another is hot on its heels, but being spoilt for choice often means being stuck for space and that leads us to make tough decisions.”

Running from tomorrow is the new live-action Disney movie Beauty And The Beast, while Kong Skull Island has been showing throughout this week.

He added: “We also want to show Viceroy’s House and Oscar Best Picture winner Moonlight at some point, but with Logan doing well and Beauty And The Beast anticipated to do well, finding space for all these great films can be a struggle.”

“Even with two screens we’re limited to four showings a day on weekdays and up to eight showings a day on weekends.”

Keighley Film Club will host 12a certificate movie Arrival on Sunday.

David said: “Arrival was also released in November and we almost showed it but for the aforementioned space issue. Arrival won best sound editing at the Oscars and was nominated for Best Picture. It tells an unconventional first-contact-with-aliens story based around the problem of language barriers.“
