FORMER Keighley resident and prolific author John Waddington-Feather has written his final Quill Hedgehog story.

The tale is on sale now for Kindle e-book readers along with the previous seven novels in the series, written over several decades.

Retired church minister John, who now lives in Shropshire, has written dozens of children’s books, historical sagas, poems, short stories and crime thrillers.

Born in Keighley, he grew up in Lawkholme during the 1930s and has used his birth town as a setting for several of his books.

The murder mystery series set in the fictionalised ‘Keighworth’ and featuring priest-detective Blake Hartley, are Amazon bestsellers on both sides of the Atlantic.

John said Quill’s Adventures In Spaceland is the final novel in the Quill Hedgehog series, and costs just 97p on Amazon. He added: “Like the others, it can be read by young and old like. Older readers will pick up the gentle satire of modern life, and younger readers will enjoy the gripping space story.

“This final novel tells how the villainous cat, Mungo Brown, aims to become master of the universe, and has set up his headquarters on Planet Malefaction. He is thwarted in his plans by the coven of witches, whose cat he is and who turn him to stone.”

“Restored to his normal self with Quill’s help, he’s a changed cat. Gone are his greed and lust for power. He’s now a friendly and caring neighbour once he’s settled back into the Animalfolk world.”
