COMEDIAN Chris Ramsey returns to the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield on Friday April 21.

The title of the latest show will be Is That Chris Ramsey?, and the South Shields-born stand-up comic will show the talent that in 2011 gained him a nomination for the Foster’s Comedy Award.

That citation was for his solo show Offermation at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and since then Ramsey has been delighting audiences across the country with a run of sell-out shows.

His high-energy delivery, hugely engaging manner and off-the-cuff style have made him a regular face on entertainment shows such as Celebrity Juice, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Sweat The Small Stuff and Virtually Famous.

Chris also starred as Jack in the hit BBC Two series Hebburn alongside Vic Reeves, and in January this year launched his new eight-part series on Comedy Central called The Chris Ramsey Show.

Huddersfield Light Opera Company present musical Sweet Charity from April 24-29, about a girl who wants to be loved so much she loses sight of who she is.

Charity sings, dances, laughs and cries her way through a series of broken romances with a host of no good men. But will Charity’s luck change when she meets insurance actuary Oscar Lindquist?

The show features well-known musical numbers including Big Spender, If My Friends Could See Me Now, Too Many Tomorrows, and There’s Gotta be Something Better Than This.

Folk artists Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman will be supported by Yan Tan Tether when they play the Lawrence Batley Theatre on May 4.
