KEIGHLEY youth theatre KYDZ is tackling serious issues with a double bill of plays this summer.

All That Glitters and Interchange will be performed at the group’s usual venue of Oakworth Methodist Church.

One play will focus on a teenage relationship that begins well but concerns the girl’s friends as they realise her boyfriend is controlling her.

The other is set in a busy bus and train station that has seen many dramatic incidents in its illustrious history.

The KYDZ members, who range in age from nine to 17, will present six stories drawn from across the interchange’s previous century.

The subject matter will include shoplifting, teenage runaways, evacuees, disasters, rowdy schoolchildren and a celebrity stalker.

Both plays will be interspersed with well-known songs when they are performed on July 21 and 22 at 7.15pm.

KYDZ, now in its 12th year, has more than 20 members, who meet each Thursday at the Methodist Church and present two musicals and a concert each year.
