MOONLIGHT will be the next film to be screened at the Picture House cinema by Keighley Film Club.
Moonlight has been showered with awards and nominations for the Oscar, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild ceremonies.
Director Barry Jenkins adapted a play by Taroll Alvin McCravey to present a film that transforms rage and frustration into unadulterated intimacy.
Club Spokesman Alan Watkinson Said: “It is a portrait in a suffocating African American world in which a gay man's coming of age story eventually provides an answer to who he is.
“This timeless three-part film is of the human connection and self discovery for Chiron as he struggles to survive in a rough Miami neighbourhood.”
“Critics describe the film as a kaleidescopic gem and say the film skilfully filters rhetoric through the realism of tactile eroticism of adolescent with its rich and sensuous, heartbreaking yet uplifting, approach.”
Moonlight can be seen at the Picture House on Sunday May 21 at 6pm. The doors open at 5.35pm.
