HAWORTH Band have been busy all summer with a host of performances across the area.

Under the baton of musical director Steve Williams they have performed at local parks, fetes, agricultural shows and weddings.

They have also been seen at the Brontë Vintage Gathering, Haworth 1940s Weekend and Manorlands Garden Party.

Spokesman Heather Haykin said the band had been pleased to move from its long-time base above the Fleece pub on Main Street to a new band room in the Haworth Village Community Hall on Butt Lane.

She said: “The previous band room was up several steep flights of stairs with no adjacent parking.

“This successful change means the band will be better able to include players of all ages requiring easier access and plentiful parking.”

The band last month played to a large, appreciative audience at Malham Show.

Heather added: “Fortunately the weather remained dry and sunny. The previous week the band played on despite the wind, rain and mud at Gargrave Show.”

Haworth Band will play inside Cliffe Castle Museum in Keighley on Sunday, September 10 from 2pm to 3.30pm.

The musicians rehearse at their new band room on Mondays from 7.45pm to 9.45pm. New players of all musical abilities are welcome.
