KEIGHLEY’S international film festival RATMA has revealed the winners of this year’s People’s Choice Award.

Anyone watching the shortlisted movies during the festival last month were able to vote for their favourite short film.

These included a host of customers visiting RATMA’s pop-up cinema in the Airedale Shopping Centre and the audience at the gala screening of category winners at Keighley Picture House.

The most popular movie amongst the punters was Dawn Westlake’s Scrappy, with Jonathan D’Ambrosio’s An American Dream coming second and Jean Claude Ricquebourg’s My Friend, My Wife And A Trout coming third.

RATMA founder Marcus Gregg said: “These three were easily top in the vote. In the end over 400 votes were cast and there were only 10 votes separating all three of the winners.

“Scrappy was the acting debut for five-year-old Nefetina Lizarraga. It was an amazing dramatic performance so keep your eye on her.”

RATMA is the River Aire Ten-Minute Amateur international film festival and each year it attracts hundreds of entries from across the world for categories including sci-fi, documentary, drama, comedy and animation.
