HIT MUSICAL Hairspray will be performed by Keighley Musical Theatre Company from October 16 to 20.

The group, formerly Keighley Amateurs, have announced that auditions will be on March 3 for principal parts and March 4 for chorus.

A spokesman said: “The show will be presented at Keighley’s Victoria Hall, transformed as usual into a 400-plus-seat theatre, giving a capacity of about 2,400 over the run.

“The musical will be performed with the full live orchestra, quality staging, costumes, sound and lighting that our audiences expect from us.”

Performers must be aged at least 14 on the first day of auditions.

Keighley Musical Theatre Company are presenting the pantomime Babes in the Wood this week at Victoria Hall.

A cast of 50 are led by Leanne Watson as Maid Marion, Fiona Spencer as Robin Hood, Mark Hutchinson as the Sheriff of Nottingham, Philip Smith as Muddles and Dean Harness as dame Penelope Penwiper.
