Launch of the new CD - Songs Of Love Hope & Despair - an album so hot off the press that it was still actually on the press!
With the album “in the can” but not physically in the hand we had to content ourselves with the new works performed live.
Claire’s vocals have improved multi-fold, she’s found her own range and style, no longer trying to match the screams and yelps of Anne-Marie (who was in the audience along with former bassist Trotwood). Although a tad too low in the mix it is obvious she’s now got the voice to match the charm and loveliness that she already had in abundance.
Peripheral Vision, Chop Chop and Banker Man are all worthy tunes but Perfect Day with its Banshees style guitar and Voices were my personal favourites.
I can’t wait for the album! Hopefully it isn’t the last time we hear these new songs live.
