Something refreshingly different from Disney, a major release for the Wii with engrossing gameplay to match its original ideas and distinctive look.
The mouse finds himself in a world where forgotten Disney characters, many who never made the big screen, live in a twisted wasteland.
Mickey must restore order using guns firing paint and thinner: he can both destroy and rebuild elements of the world, and either kill enemies or turn them to his side.
At its heart Epic Mickey is a platform game but you often forget this thanks to inventive 3D level design that cleverly uses the paint/thinner concept, and the way Mickey's moral choices influence the story.
Control and camera issues sometimes intrude on gameplay, but they don't ruin what is a rich and satisfying game.
