It's Never Too Late is one of those plays that amateurs can -- and Keighley Playhouse definitely goes -- present well.
It takes an everyday situation and provides a solid evening's entertainment with lots of laughs.
Director Kevin Moore and his strong cast generate enough hilarity to make this more than just the "light comedy" writer Ron Aldridge claims.
The setting is the living room where for many years Susan Shaw has hosted village hall committee meetings.
The members -- as eccentric as those in the Vicar of Dibley -- suggest ways Susan can respond to the departure of her husband after 40 years to the arms of a younger woman. Susan's reaction to these ideas -- drastic change, thinking of herself for once, taking a toyboy and getting in shape -- provided most of the fun.
Debbie Park performed the lead role with fire and credibility in this confident and pacey production.
