Next week sees the 25th Keighley Beer Festival, from Thursday to Saturday at Central Hall on Alice Street. To mark the 25th event this year’s souvenir black T-shirts have a shiny silver festival logo on the front. These T-shirts will be available to buy at the festival, while stocks last. A black version of the logo is featured on the souvenir glasses. The provisional beer list can now be previewed on the beer festival website to whet the appetite.

A selection of foreign bottled beers will be available, including some fruit beers, wheat beers and Abbey-style beers. We also hope to have some unusual American craft beers. Traditional British ciders and perries will also feature. This year’s festival is offering free admission on Thursday for 18 to 21-year- olds with ID showing proof of age. Festival organiser Jeremy Brooksbank said: “I am really pleased to offer young people an opportunity to discover the wonders of our traditional drink and new variations on it."

CAMRA membership is discounted for under 26s (and over 60s) at £15.50 per year, when joining by direct debit, and when you consider it includes £20 worth of Wetherspoons vouchers it is a bargain.

If you join at the festival you will receive a free pint of beer or cider and the chance to win a prize. Pre-booked groups of 10 or more of any age, arranged via the website, will also get in free.

Appealing to young and old alike will be the popular tombola, with plenty of beer-related prizes to be won.

The festival is open on Thursday from 3pm to 11pm, Friday from 11am to 11pm, on Saturday 11am to 11pm. Food is available at all sessions. Admission is free to card-carrying CAMRA members, non-members £2.50. For more details, including directions, go to keighleybeerfestival.org.uk or follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
