Feather saga republished

John Waddington-Feather, a prolific author originally from Keighley, is reprinting one of his earlier novels.

Illingworth House was the first in his Chance-Child trilogy of romantic historical novels set in the wild Pennine hills.

The saga concerned members of rival families in the mill town of Keighworth, based in Keighley, around the time of both world wars.

Illingworth House is set between 1910 and 1930, and focusses on Sir Abe Cullingworth, his mistress Mary Calow and his heir John.

The other two books are Chance Child (correct) parts one and two, following John's life as a fighter pilot and into the 1950s.

Mr Waddington-Feather said: "The books are a saga of unremitting love and hate, tracing events of three generations united by blood but divided by class."

Mr Waddington-Feather (correct) grew up in Lawkholme and later became a schoolmaster and an Anglican priest. He has written many poems, children's stories, hymns, plays, and fantasy, crime and historical novels.

Copies of the Chance-Child novels are available from Feather Books, PO Box 438, Shrewsbury, SY3 0WN, by phoning 01743 872177 or e-mailing john@waddysweb.freeuk.com.
