Waking the Dead -- Series 6 Waking The Dead has consistently been the best crime series on the BBC when others like Dalziel and Pascoe and Silent Witness have deteriorated.
Season Five was a disappointing blip, with less interesting stories as new characters replaced originals Claire Goose and Holly Aird Season Six, from 2007, finds the series back on its feet with some intriguing tales as dark, atmospheric and gripping as before.
New regulars including Tara FitzGerald help make these six two-episode stories entertaining as much for the relationships as the complex plots.
Trevor Eve's cold case squad investigates a gypsy fight club, a wartime stabbing, abuse in a children's home, torturous family secrets and assassination.
