OUT OF TOWN: Shed Seven, Abba, Victorian English Gentlemen's Club

Going For Gold or Chasing Rainbows? Probably both for Shed Seven as they dust off those old hit anthems.

The 1990s band are back together for an 18 date tour after playing successful festival appearances last summer.

Shed Seven had 15 consecutive top 40 hit over nine years before calling it a day in 2003.- Now singer Rick Witter and his bandmates promise gigs featuring all the singles, other past favourites, and new material.

Check out shedseven.com. Dates include Manchester Academy (December 6), Sheffield 02 Academy (11), Leeds 02 Academy (21).

The Victorian English Gentlemens Club are touring the UK to promote their new single Parrot, taken from forthcoming second album Love On An Oil Rig.

Paladin is described as a stripped down, isolated tale of loneliness, a failed attempt at dub and guitars pushed beyond musical use, with 13 seconds of a tune near the end.

See the Club at Manchester Ruby Lounge (August 3) and York Fibbers (6).

Original members of ABBA's backing band are among performers in touring extravaganza ABBA -- The Show.

Guitarist Lasse Wellander and saxophonist Ulf Andersson take to the stage at Sheffield Arena on December 15.

The perform alongside top Swedish tribute group Waterloo and the National Symphony Orchestra of London.

The show follows the ABBA story from the members' first gig in the 1960s, through Eurovision and on to major chart success. It features two hours of hits.
