Former members of top pop group The Beautiful South are coming to Bradford under the stripped-down name The South.
Dave Hemingway, Alison Wheeler and their colleagues will appear as part of their Sweet Refrains tour at St George’s Hall on Friday, May 23.
Songs will include Beautiful South hits including A Little Time, Don’t Marry Her, Rotterdam, Good as Gold and Perfect 10.
This nine-piece band will also be performing several songs from their well-received debut album as The South, Sweet Refrains.
The Beautiful South were formed in 1988 and their greatest hits album Carry On Up The Charts was one of the fastest-selling albums in UK history.
The band split in 2008, but Dave and Ali, two of the three lead singers, wanted to carry on, and they were joined by mainstays from the original touring band, Damon Butcher, Gaz Birtles and Tony Robinson.
