Music fans are being invited to a Cross Hills orchestra’s final rehearsal for its national competition entry.
The Craven Accordion Orchestra will compete in the UK accordion championships in Liverpool on April 26.
They will perform the same items in the Old Chapel rooms of Glusburn Institute on April 22 from 7.30pm.
The Accordion Orchestra regularly performs for local music lovers before and after their championship appearances. The orchestra, run by Cross Hills music teacher Harry Hinchcliffe, above, each year hosts the North Central Area accordion championships.
Orchestra members, along with students from Mr Hinchcliffe’s Craven School of Music, won many classes at this year’s festival. Many of those prizewinners performed for families, friends and other fans last December at Cross Hills Social Club.
The repertoire included music to suit all tastes, from seasonal favourites to music like Lord Of The Dance, Final Countdown and Tradition.
Admission to the April 22 concert is free and refreshments are available. E-mail cravenschoolofmusic@hotmail.co.uk for further information.
