A night of Queen ‘as it began’ is promised at St George’s Hall in Bradford this month.

The April 23 concert will celebrate the rock band’s finest live performances from 1974 to 1986.

Queen tribute band The Bohemians will perform a show that recalls the long hair, big winged shirts and harlequin leotards of 1977.

They will take audiences back to the time Bohemian Rhapsody was number one in the charts and Queen played their Legendary Hammersmith Odeon show.

Then it’s on to 1979’s Crazy Tour, renowned as one of Queen’s most exhilarating shows, with red, skintight PVC trousers and songs like Fat Bottom Girls and Don’t Stop Me Now.

In the second half of their show The Bohemians celebrate Queen’s most successful tour, Magic 86, with the classic yellow jacket and massive hits like A Kind of Magic, I Want to Break Free and One Vision.

The Bohemians finish the show by recreating Queen’s triumphant Live Aid performance in 1985, which is regarded as one of Queen’s finest hours.

A spokesman said: “The Bohemians re-create the show we all wanted to see, and some were lucky enough to get tickets for, in ‘86, “It ends in grand style and pomp as you would expect from any of Queen’s magnificent live performances.”

Performing at St George’s Hall on May 23 are The South, fronted by two of the singers from The Beautiful South and featuring many of the original band’s hits.

Barry Steele and his band present the tribute show Roy Orbison and Friends using original film footage from the 60s era, on June 28.

The ELO Experience present the hits of the Electric Light Orchestra from albums including A New World Record, Discovery and Out Of the Blue, on July 17.
