A GROOVY kind of money was presented to Manorlands this month.
Organisers of Haworth’s monthly Groovy Happening handed over the proceeds of the last few shows.
The Groovy Happening is a live musical event held once a month at Parkside Social Club in Butt Lane.
A host of solo and group performers, mostly from the Worth Valley and Keighley, entertain a keen bunch of regulars.
Groovy spokesman Ann Wiles said that since starting in February 2012 happening had raised the “amazing” amount of £11,000.
She said: “Brilliant musicians and a good atmosphere make it a fantastic night out while raising funds for a good cause. It's still only £3 on the door!”
Groovy organisers Charlie Staveley, Ann Wiles, Phil Hobson and Luke Parker went along to this month’s Woodfest to present a cheque for £2,500 to Manorlands fundraiser Andrew Wood.
Woodfest, an annual music festival held at a farm above Cross Roads, also raises money for Manorlands.
The next Groovy Happening, the 34th since 2012, is this Saturday. Details of the line-up are on this page.
