AN award-winning comedy play is set to come to Leeds this November.

One Man, Two Guvnors will be at the Grand Theatre from November 4 to 8.

This National Theatre production is embarking on its biggest ever tour of the UK and Ireland. Critics have dubbed the play as "The funniest show on the planet" and "Comic perfection".

With a cast including Gavin Spokes (One Man, Two Guvnors, London) in the lead role as Francis, Norman Pace (Hale and Pace) and Emma Barton (EastEnders), the acclaimed smash hit is a glorious celebration of British comedy – a unique, laugh-out-loud mix of satire, songs, slapstick and glittering one-liners.

The plot features Francis Henshall, who after being fired from his skiffle band becomes minder to Roscoe Crabbe.

However, Roscoe is really Rachel, posing as her own dead brother – who’s been killed by her boyfriend Stanley Stubbers. Francis spots the chance of an extra meal ticket and takes a job with one Stanley Stubbers - but to prevent discovery, he must keep his two guvnors never meet each other. Simple.

The play, which was created by Richard Bean, is an English adaptation of a 1743 Venetian work called Servant of Two Masters, and replaces the Italian period setting of the original with Brighton in 1963.

Tickets range from £12 to £33 and prices include a £2 booking fee. Call 0844 8482700 or visit leedsgrandtheatre.com to book.
