THE Keighley Playhouse has prepared an appetising menu of theatrical entertainment for its new 2014/15 season.

From the start of next month, shows on offer will include The Ladykillers, a stage play adaptation from a classic film involving five ‘musicians’ who plan a daring robbery, but get more than they bargain for.

Another compelling play, Go Back for Murder, based on the work of the queen of murder and mystery, will follow the popularity of last season's Agatha Christie suspense.

And the favourite and biggest hit from JB Priestley, When We Are Married, will be coming to town, a Victorian comedy that may have a few audience members examining their own matrimonial well-being.

The Ladykillers runs from September 1 to 6. A sweet little old lady, alone in her house, is pitted against a gang of criminal misfits who will stop at nothing.

Posing as amateur musicians, professor Marcus and his villains plot to involve her, unwittingly, in Marcus' brilliantly conceived heist job.

The police are left stumped and Mrs Wilberforce becomes wise to their ruse. But who will be forced to face the music? This is a funny season opener from the writing of Graham Linehan.

Agatha Christie's Go Back For Murder will be staged from October 20 to 25.

Imprisoned for poisoning her husband 15 years earlier, Caroline Crale finds herself at death's door, and writes a letter expressing her undeniable innocence.

Carla, her daughter, persuades those present on the day of her father's death to return to the scene of the crime. When the witnesses reassemble, Fogg discovers the identity of the true murderer.

JB Priestley's When We Are Married is lined up for December 8 to 13.

The play sees a village's three staunchest and most respected couples discover that they are not married at all. The effect of the announcement is cataclysmic. Before things are settled, lives are jarred amusingly and smugness has given way to hilarious adventure.

The second half of the season features more helpings of comedy and another murder mystery, with The Fox On The Fairway from January 26 to 31 2015, A Foot In the Door from March 16 to 21, Death In High Heels from May 4 to 9 and Wedding of the Year from June 22 to 27.

All performances begin at 7.30pm and tickets range from £5 to £7. Call the box office on 07599 890 769 to book.
