MY NEWT Comedy makes a return to Keighley this month following a successful debut earlier this year.

The comedy club will again be at the Royal Oak on Damside, with an international line-up on Sunday from 8pm.

Promoter Daniel J Kennedy said: ““My Newt Comedy has packed away its shorts, unknotted its hankies, and is back after its summer break.

“The line-up features a headline performance from multi-award winning New Zealand comic Sully O’Sullivan.

“The Kiwi stand-up has just enjoyed a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe where his show Nationhood received widespread acclaim.”

Sully first took to the stage in 1998 and has been picking up accolades and fans ever since. He is now in demand in comedy clubs all over the world.

Steeton man Daniel J Kennedy, himself a stand-up comic, said: “Sully is a real class act and is sure to have the good folk of Keighley in stitches from the start of his set to the very end.

“He really is an act you can’t afford to miss out on.”

Opening the night is Chunk Lawrence – a milkman from Bolton who within six months of starting out in comedy had been snapped up by comedy club giant Jongleurs.

The middle section of the night features performances from two of the North East’s brightest new comedy talents, Nick Banks and Fran Garrity. Daniel will ensure the night runs smoothly with his very own brand of comedy.

Daniel added: “We’ve pulled together an absolutely storming line-up for The Royal Oak and when you consider tickets are still just a fiver I’d say this really will be the best value comedy night in Yorkshire.”

Tickets for the My Newt Comedy @ The Royal Oak on September 14th are just £5 and are available from The Royal Oak now – just pop in or: on Call 01535 604084 to book tickets, or call at the Royal Oak. Doors open on Sunday at 7pm.
