FANS OF hit musical Wicked can see one of the stars of the show as she performs a solo show in Leeds.

Wicked was performed to great acclaim at the city’s Grand Theatre in the summer as part of a national tour.

The show revealed the ‘real’ story of the witches of Oz and portrayed the friendship of trainee sorceresses Elphaba and Glinda.

Kerry Ellis played Elphaba in the first British production, and returned to the role in the West End last month.

Taking to the road for an autumn concert tour, she will perform at the City Varieties Music Hall in Leeds on October 7.

She will perform hits from the biggest West End and musical shows, including We Will Rock You, Oliver!, My Fair Lady and Les Misérables as well as Wicked.

Award-winner Kerry established herself as a rising star with lead roles in London and on Broadway, and achieved chart-topping success as a recording artist with her debut album Anthems.

Kerry said: “It was an absolute thrill for me to be returning to the amazing show and the incredible role of Elphaba that is so very special to me.”

Another star of stage musicals, Ray Quinn, will perform at the City Varieties, on October 5.

Ray has appeared in Grease, Dirty Dancing, Legally Blonde and The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice since becoming a runner-up in the X Factor.

X Factor winner Joe McElderry will perform at the venue on October 22, Kiki Dee and Carmelo Luggeri will perform An Acoustic Journey on October 23, and there will be a singalong screening of Disney movie Frozen on November 2.
