SOUL @ The Civic hits the big screen as it returns to Keighley this month.
The regular soul night will feature a screening of the full-length movie Northern Soul.
The film will be accompanied by a Wigan Casino-style night featuring classic soul tracks.
Soul @ The Civic, held at Keighley Civic Centre on North Street, claims to provide “real music for real people”.
The event on October 25 is organised by a group of lifelong local soul music fans, including David Shackleton.
Mr Shackleton said Soul @ The Civic had become a good showpiece event on the soul music circuit.
He said: “We are going from strength to strength with regular all-day events and soul nights.
“We have people travelling from all over the North of England as the word has spread.”
Mr Shackleton said the October 25 event was a tribute night to the famous Wigan Casino, which ran from 1973 to 1981.
He said: “We hope to have one of the original casino DJs from the time.
“We have a full wooden dance floor, discounted beers and spirits, and a late licence until 2am.”
Soul @ The Civic begins at7.30pm. Admission is £4. Email soulshack@blueyonder.co.uk or call 01535 210507.
