THE SUCCESS of his old novels on Kindle has prompted former Keighley man John Waddington-Feather to write another.

John is currently pending a further investigation for priest-detective Blake Hartley in a fictionalised version of the town where John was born.

The prolific writer of novels, essays, poems and plays has set many previous Blake Hartley mysteries in ‘Keighworth’.

John revived Hartley earlier this year for The Dance-Hall Mystery which featured Keighley’s Mechanics Institute – which burned down in 1962 – in a leading role.

The Mechanics in North Street, also housed John's old school - Keighley Boys' Grammar - before it became the site for Keighley College.

John said his writing had recently been delayed while he recovered from a cataract operation, but he added: “I’m slowly getting back to normal.”

John’s previous novels are available from Amazon for the Kindle e-reader and cost around 77p.
