LES BARKER will restart the monthly Lothersdale Live folk night on January 17.
He is said to blend Edward Lear nonsense, Stanley Unwin wordplay, Reeves and Mortimer inconsequentiality, and the demotic robustness of Holloway monologues.
Described as a genuine genius of comic rhyme, Les may well reduce his audience at Lothersdale Village Hall to a mass of helpless laughter and aching bellies.
Coming up at Lothersdale Live are Flossie Malavialle and Keith Donnelly (February 28), Steve Tilston (March 21), Greg Russell and Ciaran Algar (April 18), Hissy Fit and David Swann (May 16), Artisan (June 27), and Something Nasty In The Woodshed (October 24).
