BANDS are being sought to play at a fundraising fun day in Cross Roads this summer.

Bluefruit Promotions is organising the event on June 6, and promise a range of activities for all ages.

The company has already recruited a number of acoustic musicians to play in in one room, where most of the stalls will be.

But they need electric bands, playing a variety of styles, to perform in the other room at St James’s Church.

Proceeds from the event will raise money for repairs to the church roof.

Spokesman Nathan Harrison said: “What we’re trying to find are electric bands that play a lot of covers. There will be a large age range, so we need suitable music.”

Bands that played their own songs would be welcome so long as the songs were popular and tuneful.

Mr Harrison did not want bands too heavy or “in your face”.

He added: “We will also have stilt walkers, hook-a-duck, face-painting, stalls, tombolas, home-made baked and refreshments.”

Mr Harrison said many Haworth people and businesses were providing items for the day, and he invited more people to donate gifts.

Anyone willing to perform donate items should email bluefruitpromotions@gmail.com or call Mr Harrison on 07793 088850.
