YOUNGSTERS can discover what it’s like to live and work in outer space this half-term holiday.

They can visit Halifax children’s museum Eureka! to join the crew of Space Station Eureka!.

The family attraction has unveiled activities about space exploration as part of their Reach For The Stars event running from Saturday to February 22.

The Eureka! crew will be investigating the planets and inviting children to have a go at a bit of rocket science with fun demonstrations.

Older children can find out more about our nearest planetary neighbour, learning all about missions to the red planet as part of regular Mission To Mars sessions.

Visitors can climb aboard Space Station Eureka! to dress up as an astronaut and find out what life is like for real astronauts on board the International Space Station.

Visitors arriving after 2pm on weekdays next week will receive 15 per cent off the price of admission, with opening hours extended until 6pm.

Also on weekdays, there will be a chance to get a taste of how NASA astronauts prepare for zero gravity on the gyroscope.

Reach for the Stars! activities are free with standard admission to the museum, or with a Eureka! annual pass.

Visit eureka.org.uk/events/reach-for-the-stars or call 01422 330069 for further information.

Eureka! is designed especially for children aged from birth to-11, with more than 400 hands-on exhibits inspiring them to learn about themselves and the world around them through imagination, play and discovery.
