FEISTY songwriting duo Plumhall headline the Baccapipes Folk Club in Keighley tomorrow.

The pair are touring to promote their debut album Thundercloud.

Plumhall last year won the Guardian Hidden Gem award and an Outstanding Writers award.

They are renowned for combining two powerfully-played acoustic guitars, articulate and penetrating lyrics, captivating melodies, irresistible choruses and wonderful harmonies.

Audiences can also expect energy, passion and joie de vivre in performances reminiscent of The Lilac Time and folk icons Richard and Linda Thompson.

The Baccapipes has replaced its annual Poetry Night on February 28 with a performance by the ever-popular Fil Campbell and Tom McFarland.

Damien Barber and Mike Wilson, regarded as leading exponents of traditional song, headline on March 13.

Debra Cowan travels from the USA to perform “traditional and other people’s songs” on March 27.

Keith Hancock will mix the musical genres on April 17, Winter Wilson will showcase vocal harmonies that “ooze with certainty” on May 1, Den Miller and Strid will perform on May 8, and Robinson, O’Dwyer And Kelly will keep the tradition alive on May 29.

The Baccapipes meets every Friday from 8.30pm at the Ukrainian Club, 9 Henry Street, off Cavendish Street, Keighley. Visit baccapipes.org.uk or call 01535 605310.
