FLOSSIE Malavialle and Keith Donnelly are the headliners at this month’s Lothersdale Live.

The regular folk, roots and acoustic music night will as usual be at Lothersdale Village Hall, on February 28.

Flossie and Keith are both busy solo performers and, whenever they can fit around their solo commitments, they tour as ‘superduo’ Dark Horses.

The pair did a hugely successful-week tour of Australia in 2013 that took in 50 gigs.

During the Lothersdale concert, Flossie and Keith will each perform a solo set, then finish with a selection from the Dark Horses set.

A spokesman said: “This will combine the power and passion of Flossie's voice with Keith's remarkable original songs and guitar, with more than a smattering of the stage presence and charisma for which both are known.”

There will also be a blend of Geordie and Gallic humour from the duo.

Earlier this month Flossie played a concert at at Ilkley’s Manor House Museum and Art Gallery organised by the building’s Friends group.

The French singer received an enthusiastic reception when she first performed at the venue in 2011.

Flossie is said to positively exude joie de vivre, communicating her own enjoyment of her songs to the audience.

She became involved in the British folk scene in 2000/2001 while she was on a teacher exchange in the north-east of England.

She had also been singing for years in France before that, and found it quite natural to turn up at the Darlington folk club one night to meet the locals and sing a song.

After her exchange was over, she went back to France for a year but she missed England so much that she returned to do supply teaching in the Darlington area.

Her songs include famous numbers, songs full of energy, and lovely ballads.

Tickets for Lothersdale Live cost £10 in advance and £12 on the door. Visit lothersdalelive.org.uk for more information.
