The Cricketers Arms’s monthly comedy night is steaming down to a new venue.

The February 26 gig will instead be held at Cafe Choux Choux which is owned by the same family.

Performing at the cafe, on the forecourt of Keighley railway station, will be Dave Williams, Lee Kyle, Sammy Dobson and Laura Machin.

Chris Brooker remains the resident MC and the tickets remain £5 each.

Headline act Dave Williams is posh by admission, sophisticated by nature and ever so articulate.

But beneath the suave exterior beats a comedy heart more than capable of revelling in the ridiculous and pumping out pure gutter filth.

Chris said: “Dave is a truly irresistable act that is in huge demand all across the nation.”

Support is provided by Lee Kyle, direct from the North East with his own infectious brand of hilarious nonsense.

There will also be shorter sets from Sammy Dobson and Laura Machin.

Chris said that tickets were available in advance from both the Cafe Choux Choux and the Cricketers Arms, Coney Lane, Keighley.

He said: “Fine beer and fine food will be readily available to complement a night of laughter at the town's newest eatery of repute.”

Cafe Choux Choux opened last August in the former Keighley Musicians Centre premises after 18 months of preparation.

It represented a six-figure investment by Worth-Inns, a long-established local company which also runs the Cricketers Arms.

The first phase of Worth-Inns’ project, the next-door Nana Nellies’ deli and milk bar, opened last year.

The owners of Worth-Inns have run public houses within West Yorkshire for many years, but the combined Cafe Choux Choux and Nana Nellies is one of the company’s biggest-ever projects.

The Cricketers Arms specialises in real ales and recently received an award from the Campaign for Real Ale for being included in its Good Beer Guide for 10 consecutive years.
