THIS MONTH sees the start of a season of shows for children at the Square Chapel Centre For The Arts in Halifax.

There’s gentle horror for little horrors this Sunday as the Lempen Puppet Theatre Company perform Little Frankenstein.

The 2.30pm show tells the story of puppeteer Frank Stein who, inspired by Dr Frankenstein, creates a puppet that changes his life forever.

Little Frankenstein promises to tickle the imagination of everyone from five to 105 years old.

Today families can join in with Nick Sharratt’s Big Draw-Along, from 3pm, when the writer and illustrator shows how he creates his picture books.

Nick Sharratt has worked on books by best-selling authors including Jacqueline Wilson and Julia Donaldson.

Red Ladder and DumbWise Theatre will tomorrow present their family musical adaptation of Terry Jones’ much loved children’s tale Nicobobinus.

The show starts at 6.30pm, but before the show there is a musicality and drama workshop for over-sixes from 4pm to 5.30pm. Places need to be booked in advance.

Classic Julia Donaldson tales, including Room On The Broom, are brought to life in Storytelling With Artful Playground.

Suitable for ages three to seven years, there will be two sessions on Saturday at 11am and 1.30pm.

Coming up are the well-loved Chinese tale Liang And The Magic Paintbrush on March 29, and Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland on April 2.
