CIRCUS Starr will return to Silsden in April to perform two shows to hundreds of local children.

The April 29 performances, part of the circus’s spring Big Top tour, are expected to follow previous tradition and become sell-outs.

Circus Starr specialises in performing to audiences with physical disabilities, learning disabilities and life limiting illnesses.

Shows are usually sold out in advance thanks to donations from local businesses, which enable Circus Starr to give tickets to dozens of charities, support groups and special schools in each area. Visit circus-starr.org.uk to book tickets.

The attraction is a touring circus boasting world-class artists from across the globe. It was founded to raise funds for local charities while providing free seats for disadvantaged, disabled or vulnerable children.

Through its network of partner charities and businesses, Circus Starr provides at least £1.3 million worth of free tickets to children, their families and community groups throughout the UK every year.

The show features Chinese pole and aerial strap performances, juggling and acrobatics, plus a variety of dance, music and illusion.

Circus director, Neville Wilson, said: "The circus is a magical place and a wonderful arena for inclusion and equality. We see time and again how a trip to the circus can change a child’s life."

The April 29 show will be held at the Silsden car boot sale site, at Low Woodside Farm. Performances will be at 4.45pm and 7pm.

The show welcomes any donation, big or small, to help buy tickets for vulnerable, sick or disabled children. Call 01260 288690 for details on how to donate.
