THE Ginjammers, an acoustic two-piece with a deep rootsy Americana sound, will perform at a charity concert in Sutton-in-Craven.

They will play at South Craven Baptist Church on Saturday March 7 to help raise money for Save the Children.

Based in West Craven, the Ginjammers comprise Pete and Hazel Rowlands and their music cannot be defined by one genre as they traverse a varied soundscape ranging from bluegrass, folk, country, gospel and blues.

The pair have been described as displaying such incredible close harmonies, audiences could be mistaken for thinking they are brother and sister.

They have often been compared to Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings, though their music has a more upbeat style.

The pair are festival favourites and have appeared at many events, including Dent Music and Beer Festival, Hardraw Country and Bluegrass Gathering, Rockfield CMF, The Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival, Somerton Arts Festival, Roots North and Maverick Festival.

Tickets for the Sutton concert cost £10, which includes a pie and pea supper. Call the church office on 01535 636326 to book.
